Training the trainers to sustain change

2022-06-13

Last week, MINDtheGEPs organised a two day training workshop to build capacity for sustainable change in partner organisations. Between 7-8 June, Around 50 people met in Vigo to discuss basic concepts and tools to promote organisational change, and how situated knowledge can support the implementation of gender equality plans.

The first day focused on raising awareness on gender equality in research and academia, and equipping participants with the skills they need to design, negotiate, implement and monitor a gender equality plan, or GEP for short. This part of the workshop also dealt with resistance to gender equality.

The second day of the workshop focused on how situated knowledge can support the implementation of gender equality plans. The session aimed to engage participants in a personal and professional capacity, using their own experiences as a starting point to tailor GEPs for their own work environments.

The workshop is the first in a series of train the trainer events. It was hosted by CTAG – Automotive Technology Centre of Galicia, bringing a perspective from gender in research and development in the private sector.
